Requirements for Basset Griffon Vendeen (Petit) Litters

  • Both parents must be registered with a Kennel Club either in the UK or overseas.
  • Both parents must be a recognised standard colour for the breed.
  • The sire must be over the age of 18 months.
  • The dam must be over the age of 24 months.
  • The dam must not have whelped more than 3 litters in her lifetime.
  • The dam of the litter must be under the age of 8 years old on the litter due date.
  • The dam must not have whelped another litter within the last 12 months.
  • The dam must not have had two back to back litters within the last two years.

Breed specific health tests

Both the sire and the dam must have the following health tests. 

A current clear eye certificate within the last 12 months. 

If the eye certificate has lapsed, we will still allow dogs to be listed if you can show you have them booked in for an eye test within 3 months. 

One parent, either the sire or the dam, must have tested clear.
