Kennel Gembæk | Golden Retrievers in a life time…
I had a litter from Goldsand’s Sonnet of Music, which was probably the biggest success I had done up to that point. From this litter, there were several Cert and CK winners, including my own DK.CH. Gembæk’s Joy of Music (Lullu) who has again bred countless Cert and CK winners, several of whom have field trials.
I constantly try to maintain my “Music line” partly because of their temperament, working abilities and not least their exterior. I now have several young bitches after Lullu, which I hope can pass on the characteristics.
Lullu has been an incredibly strong breeding bitch who has made an incredible impact on her progeny. She was born in 1992 and died in September 2003. She was truly what you call a “once in a lifetime” dog.
Something that is very important to me as a breeder is the dogs’ temperament, I have between 5-7 dogs and they are all indoor dogs, i.e. they stay in the house when we are home, otherwise they all go together in a large enclosure, or in boxes if the weather is very bad. The dogs come with us to the field or the beach every day where they are allowed to romp and bathe all they want, it is always a very tired but happy group of Goldens that comes home from such a trip.
