Situated in Paignton South Devon the Darthill Golden Retriever kennel has been in existence since the 1960s and was founded by the late Mrs Vera Brice. In 1986 I took out a separate interest in the affix and since then I have bred and campaigned a number of top winners.

Show Champion Darthill Lavender Lady won her first Challenge Certificate at the prestigious Crufts dog show in 1990. The other 2 ccs were won later that year.

Show Champion Darthill Wind In The Willows JW gained her title in 1994 and her 2 half sisters Show Champion Darthill Lavender and Lace and Show Champion Darthill Lily of The Valley JW were made up the following year. Lace was joint top cc winning bitch in 1995 and they are probably the youngest litter sisters ever to both gain their titles in the UK.

Their dam Breeze was awarded top brood bitch in the breed in 1994.
Since then I have bred 3 more Junior warrant winners in Darthill Sea Breeze, Darthill Pick A Lily and Darthill Moonlight N Roses.

With very few litters having been bred at Darthill I am very proud of our success.

Having decided to give up breeding in 2008 I bought in a dog puppy from the nearby Shearstone kennel -Shearstone Renegade at Darthill JW (Reg).
In 2013 Goldleigh Macloud at Darthill (Bill) a Reg grandson, joined us and in 2017 Goldsand Rock and Roll at Darthill (Ernie) a Reg son moved in.
All 3 boys are stud dogs.

I am qualified to judge the breed at Championship Show level and have also judged in many other European countries.
