Requirements for Pug Litters

  • Both parents must be registered with a Kennel Club either in the UK or overseas.
  • Both parents must be a recognised standard colour for the breed.
  • The sire must be over the age of 14 months
  • The dam must be over the age of 18 months
  • The dam of the litter must be under the age of 8 years old on the litter due date
  • The dam must not have whelped more than 3 litters in her lifetime.
  • The dam must not have had two back to back litters within the last two years.

Breed specific health tests

Both the sire and the dam must have the following health tests. 

Both parents must have had the test within the past 24 months.  One parent must have a grade of 0 or 1 and neither parent having a grade of 3.
